Obituary

LAWRENCE – Jennie Joanne Ribaudo, 88 of Lawrence, MA passed away unexpectedly on New Years Eve at Mary Immaculate Assisted Living Center located on Lawrence Street in Lawrence, MA.

Born, educated and lifelong resident of Lawrence on January 18, 1925, the daughter of Francesco and Marianna (Macaione) Ribaudo, she graduated from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1942. Jennie was the first admitting clerk at Bon Secours Hospital upon its opening working there for 15 years. She went on to work for 14 years at Raytheon in Andover. Upon her retirement from Raytheon, Jennie returned to the hospital as a volunteer in the accounting office.

Jennie was a 15 year breast cancer survivor, having been diagnosed in 1998. She was very devoted to her family, living and caring for her parents and then her sister Josie until her death in 1995. Jennie loved her godson, Frank like a son she never had. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and lived long enough to see three World Series Championships. Jennie loved to travel and though she never drove had a GPS memory for the roads of Massachusetts. She enjoyed her monthly trips to Foxwoods with her friends of MI and would often meet her nephew’s wife Betty for lunch while at the casino.

Jennie was predeceased by her parents as well as her sister Josephine Hawthorne and her husband Lowell “Buddy” Hawthorne and her brother Joseph Ribaudo and his wife Mildred. She is survived by her nephews; Frank Ribaudo and his wife Betty of Plainfield, CT, Garry and Ken Ribaudo of Saco, ME and a niece Donna Schow and her husband Ken of Southboro, MA.
Grandnephews, Matthew and Ted Ribaudo and Joseph Schow; grandnieces, Laura and her husband Michael Simeone, Sarah Schow, Savannah and Emily Ribaudo and great-grandniece and nephew Brooklyn and Benjamin Simeone.

ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial contributions may be made in Jennie’s name to St. Monica’s Church Building Fund 212 Lawrence St. Methuen, MA 01844. Visiting hours for family and friends will be Sunday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00a.m. in St. Monica’s Church in Methuen, MA with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
