Lula Marie Howard, 92, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at the Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, January 4, 2014, at The Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla with the Rev. Kenneth Kicklighter officiating. Her niece, Esther Payne, will give the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Turner County. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Howard was born November 13, 1921, in Turner County, Georgia, to the late Clarence Eugene and Vera Eunice Lankford Eidson. She lived in Sycamore most of her life and was a former machine operator for Jaco Pants Factory. Mrs. Howard was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Turner County.
She is survived by three sisters: Thelma Farmer of Ocilla, Margaret Garrett of Marietta and Audrey Rogers of Atlanta as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Artis B. Howard, an infant son; five brothers: Robert Eidson, Leroy Eidson, Aldine Eidson, Cliff Eidson, and Warren Eidson and two sisters: Betty Oliver and Vera Howard.
