Obituary

Southbridge – Charles F. Lewis, 82, of Brimfield, died on Wednesday, January 1st in the Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after an illness.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara A. (Maynard) Lewis; his four sons, Michael Lewis and his wife Marie of Leominster, Steven Lewis and his wife Cecile of Brimfield, Paul Lewis and his wife Denise of Charlton and Eric Lewis and his wife Tracy of Webster; a brother, Richard Lewis of Worcester; a sister, Dorothy Weaver of Leicester; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Charlie was born in Worcester, son of the late William and E. Marie (Dufresne) Lewis and is predeceased by a grandchild; a great grandchild; a brother William Lewis and a sister Elizabeth Wallace.

Mr. Lewis proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a Disabled American Veteran. He retired from Quality Seafood’s in Worcester where he worked as a packer and shipper and he previously worked for Supreme Beef Co.

Charlie was a member of the Korean War Veterans Association and was most happy when he was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 6th at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are on Sunday, January 5th from 4 to 7 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions in memory of Charlie may be made to either Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center “Patient Activity Fund” 84 Chapin Street Southbridge, MA 01550 or the Disabled American Veterans PO Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
