Joseph P Gallo of Somerville died peacefully at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center. He was 84.
A Somerville resident for most of his life, he was the son of the late Giuseppe and Tomasina (Grefoni) Gallo. Joseph proudly served with the United States Marine Corps in the Korean War. Upon his return from the service he worked with Sears, Roebuck & Co. as a shipping and receiving clerk. He was devoted to his wife, children and grandchildren.
The beloved husband of Anna (Wencis), he was a devoted father to: Joseph S. Gallo of Chelsea, Diane Crowley of Haverhill, and Karen Gallo of Somerville. He was a loving grandfather to eight grandchildren and is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, January 6th at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial at Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne at 1 PM. Visiting hours will be Sunday 2 – 6 PM.
