Obituary

Joseph H. Gracia, 87, of New Bedford died December 30, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Anna L. (Shawkey) Gracia.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Isaac and Helena W. (Magnett) Gracia, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Gracia was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Gracia was a former coach and manager of the William Carney Elks Lodge Little League Baseball team.
Survivors include his wife; a step-daughter, Susan Fonteneau-Nicolan of New Bedford; a sister, Mary E. Evans of Cranston, RI; 2 grandchildren, Roger Fonteneau and Annette Fonteneau; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late William Gracia, Walter Gracia, Elizabeth Clark and Calvin Gracia.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Monday, January 6th at 10:30 AM. Funeral Service at Grace Episcopal Church at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
