Obituary

Jean Paul Lariviere 87, of 36 Bellevue Ave. died Monday December 30, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. J. Paul Lariviere owner of Paul’s Family Restaurant passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Frederick and Valida (Vincent) Lariviere.
A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he is survived by two sons, Ronald Lariviere and his wife Marianne of Cumberland, Mark Lariviere and his wife Cathy Ramey of NY, two daughters, Carol Kane of N. Smithfield, and Diane Marchetti and her husband Albert of Cranston; seven grandchildren, Adam and his wife Joanna Ruduk Lariviere and Cara Lariviere , Lauren Goss and Kerri Farrell all of Cumberland, Juliet Ramey-Lariviere of NY, and Michael and Matthew Marchetti of Cranston, four great-grandchildren, Thomas and Nathan Goss, Madison Cordeiro, and Reagan Rose Lariviere. He was also the father of the late Paula Farrell, and brother of the late Guston Lariviere.

Paul was the owner and operator of Paul’s Family Restaurant of Woonsocket for the past forty five years, and loved talking and mixing with his customers. He loved boating and was a member of the Edgewood Yacht Club and the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks. He also loved spending weekends in his house in Maine. His greatest joy in life was family gatherings and trips to Twin River where he never lost.

His funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Holy Family Church, South Main St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery in Manville. Visiting Hours are Sunday 3-7 PM.
