Carol Ann "Kiyo" (Thomas) Gioia
Methuen, Ma. - On the evening of December 28, 2013 Carol passed away peacefully at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA. while comforted by her family members. She was 70 years on this earth. She is the daughter of the late Michael J. and Evelyn (Morrison) Thomas and was born August 25, 1943 in Methuen. She was educated in Methuen schools was a long time employee of Honeywell and Sams Steak Out of South Lawrence. She lived an amazing life doing what she loved; spending time with her family and caring for her dogs! She was an incredible human being with a million dollar smile. Carol's passing was preceeded by her parents Michael and Evelyn, her sister Gloria and brothers Francis, James, Michael, Charles, and Richard, all with whom she is now reunited.
Family members broken hearted include her husband of 37 years Francis R. Gioia of Methuen, daughter Karen A. Phillips and partner Karen Cleary of Methuen, son's Robert W. Phillips and his wife Stacey of Deerfield, NH, John R Gioia and partner Kate Austin of Methuen, son Francis Gioia, Jr., and partner Kelly Poindexter of Chelmsford, Ma. and grandchildren; Bryanna, Taylor, Kelly, Kassi, and Ashton, brothers William R Thomas and his wife Geraldine of NH, Daniel J. Thomas of MA, and sister Nancy (Thomas) McNutt of NH, Aunt Margaret McLeod and cousins from Canada, sisters-in-law Sandra Thomas of Arizona, Judy Thomas of Florida, Janet Thomas of MA. Joyce (Gioia) Huntress and husband Ronald of Ma. Ellen (Gioia) Aboud and husband Robert of Ma. plus many nieces and nieces and extended family.
She is very loved and will be deeply missed by all. We will see you in HEAVEN!!
Calling hours will take place on Saturday morning from 8:AM-11:AM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence St Methuen with Funeral Services to follow at 11 o'clock in the funeral home.
