Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:15am. Visiting Hours Monday 5-8pm. Grace B. (Quirk) James, 82 years, died Thursday evening at the New England Sinai Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late John F. and Ann E. (Hughes) Quirk. She attended Brockton schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1939, and had been a lifelong resident of Brockton. For over 20 years she had been employed by the VA Medical Center in Brockton retiring in 1983. For many years she was a lector and volunteer at the VA Medical Center, a Eucharistic Minister and CCD Teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and 20th Century Catholic Club.
She is survived by one daughter Susan E. Bower of Brockton, one son Thomas K. James of Peterborough, New Hampshire, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the wife of the late Charles J. James and sister of the late Ruth Morey.
