Marguerite Vickers, age 70, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Shady Acres following an extended illness. Mrs. Vickers was born on March 7, 1943, in Douglas, GA to the late Ivey Rowell and Lola Bell Lewis Rowell.
Survivors include: her husband, Harold Vickers of Douglas, GA, son Ray (Leslie) Roberts of Axson, GA, daughter, Jan (Richard) Thurston of Douglas, GA, step son, Van (Tracie) Vickers of Douglas, GA, three brothers, Hilton Rowell of Callahan, FL, Wilton Rowell of Jacksonville, FL, and Roger Rowell of Middleburg, FL, five sisters, Helen McKinnon of West Green, GA, Trellis Moore of Douglas, GA, Evelyn Kroke of East Grand Forks, MN, Jeanie Cronin of Guyton, GA, and Ronnie Morgan of Clyo, GA, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Rowell, step son, Stan Vickers, and two grandchildren Russell Roberts and Micah Roberts.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Carver Baptist Church with Rev. John Clough and Rev. Phillip Corbin officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
