Obituary

Edward G. Grueter, age 70, of Brockton, died unexpectedly December 28, 2013 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. He was the loving husband for 48 years of Patricia A. (Maguire) Grueter. Ed was born in Boston, son of the late George E. and Mary (Watt) Grueter. He was raised and educated in Roslindale and had been a resident of Brockton for the past 44 years. Ed served in the Navy, and had been employed as a Route Salesman for the Coca-Cola Company for 38 years. He was a longtime member and trustee of the Vega Club, member of the Enterprise Club and the Knights of Columbus, Seville Council 93. Ed was loyal, family oriented, always willing to help others and was active with numerous charity events. He loved to play golf and played in many golf tournaments. He was most proud of his three grandchildren and was the best Grandpa. Ed just loved to spend time with family.

In addition to his wife Patricia, he is survived by two sons, Robert Grueter and his wife June of Malden and Edward Grueter and his wife Danielle of Brockton; three grandchildren, Krystina Lincoln, and Nolan and Nate Grueter; a brother John Grueter of Colorado and sister Barbara Vigilante of Roslindale and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Diane Lincoln and brother of the late Ann Murphy and Mae Larkin.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday, January 1, 2014, 2-6pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery.
