Ralph J. Caprio of Tewksbury, formerly of Everett, passed away Saturday evening at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Adeline (Guarino) for the past sixty one years.
Born and raised in Everett eighty-six years ago, he was the son of the late Louise (D'Elia) and Joseph Caprio. After returning from World War II, where he served honorably and proudly with the US Navy, he and Adeline settled in Tewksbury for the past fifty-six years.
Ralph worked at Eastern Gas in Everett for many years as the general foreman prior to their move to Maryland. He then was employed as foreman for twenty -three years with Wheeler Manufacturing retiring in the year 2000. His true passion was cooking; he enjoyed his garden and most of all being with his family.
In addition to his wife Adeline, he is survived by four children his son Ralph Caprio Jr and his wife Mary of Billerica, David Caprio and his wife Susan of Tewksbury, Donna Cognato and her husband Antonio of Tewksbury, Diane Moore and her husband Jonathan of Andover and sister Annette 'Chickie' Bono of Stoneham.
He was the loving grandfather of Gregory, Stephen and Rachel Moore, Christina Bridges, Marie and Andrea Caprio. He was predeceased by his brother Frank Caprio and a sister Carmela DeLuca
His funeral will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, on Thursday, January 2, at 9 am. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St. Woburn at 10. Services will conclude with burial at Glenwood Cemetery, Everett.
Visiting Hours at the funeral home are on Wednesday, January 1, from 4 thru 8.
