Obituary

Goldman, Dr Michal F. (Myra) 78 years of age entered into rest on December 27, 2013 at Wingate at Silver Lake on December 27. Formerly of New Rochelle, NY, So. Hamilton, MA and Deerfield Beach, FL Daughter of the late Salome (Israelson) Goldman and Harry Goldman.
Mike received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maine in 1957: masters of Science from Penn State University in 1962, and a Ph.D. from New York University in 1972. She earned Associates Degrees from Endicott College in 1987 and 1989. She was a member of the Golden Arrow of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
Dr Goldman taught physical education in New Milford, CT, Bellefonte, PA, and New Rochelle, NY public schools; was a Graduate Assistant at Penn State and a Teaching Fellow at NYU; and instructor at the Douglass College of Rutgers University. In September she was appointed a Professor at Boston State College. When Boston State and U Mass merged in 1982 she was appointed as a full Professor and taught there until her retirement in 1991. She co-authored and contributed to numerous texts and articles in her field. She served on the board of The American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance from 1972 through 1987, receiving recognition both national level and with in the Eastern District. Dr. Goldman also served on the Town of Hamilton Youth Commission and was a charter member of the Chebacco Lake Association.
“Mike” is survived by her sister Marsha Silva of Plymouth, MA a nephew Bruce Silva of Hooksett, NH and a niece Debra Silva also of Plymouth.

A graveside service will be held at Vine Hills Cemetery Plymouth, MA on Sunday December 29 at 9:00 AM
