Albert F. Viscardi, 75

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Albert F. Viscardi, age 75, a lifelong resident of Mansfield passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
Born in Mansfield, MA on November 20, 1938, he was a loving and devoted son of the late Ermine and Virginia (Hodges) Viscardi.
Al grew up and was educated in Mansfield. He was a graduate of Mansfield High School and continued his education by graduating from Curry College in Milton and the University of California where he received his Degree in Education.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Viscardi had worked for over 20 years as a fifth grade school teacher in the Foxboro Public School System. He had also owned the Chandler and Viscardi Driving School in Mansfield.
Al was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield where he served for many years as a collector at Sunday morning Mass.
When younger, Al was a motorcycle enthusiast of which he enjoyed riding with friends. In later years he enjoyed reminiscing with friends on his daily trips to Dunkin Donuts and Honey Dew Donuts in Mansfield. Another favorite past time he enjoyed was trips to Mohegan Sun in CT.
He was the dear brother of Joseph E. Viscardi, Sr. and his wife Maria of Walpole. He is also survived by his cherished nieces and nephews, Barbara J. Viscardi of Florida, Carol Younes of Norfolk, Joseph E. Viscardi, Jr. of Franklin and Michael P. Viscardi of Foxboro, his grand niece Yamaya Jean of Norfolk, as well as several cousins and many friends.
His funeral, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, December 31st at 8:00 A.M. from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield followed by a Mass of Christian burial celebrated at 9:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, December 30th from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home.
