BILLERICA - Mrs. Lorraine Theresa (Srubas) Krantz, R.N., age 89, died peacefully Tuesday, December 24, at Lahey Clinic in Burlington, after a brief illness.
She was born in Chicago, IL, September 5, 1924, a daughter of the late Walter and Anna (Buksas) Srubas, and was raised in Illinois. After earning her B.S. in Nursing and earning her certification as R.N., she worked as a nurse at the cancer center at Colorado General Hospital in Denver for most of her career. She retired to Billerica in 1992. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family and her dedication to her career as a nurse.
She leaves two daughters, Lilli Ann Aylward of Hudson, NH, and Carolyn Bresnahan of Palmer, CO; four grandchildren, James and his wife Jennifer Aylward of Lowell, Matt Aylward of Hudson, NH, Megan Bresnahan and Brianna Bresnahan both of VA; two great grandsons, Jack and Rylan Aylward; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son-in-law, John “Jack” Aylward, and her siblings, Jerri Mensik and Steve Srubas.
Her Memorial Prayer service was held Tuesday, December 31, in the funeral home. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701, will be appreciated.
