MARGARET (PHILLIPS) “COOKIE” ABERNATHY, 71, passed away on December 23, 2013. She was a retired employee of Mother’s Cookies, and a Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lucille Phillips; and four siblings. Survivors include her children, Ann Williams (Rick), Joseph Steiger (Kathy), Judy Weeks (Timmy), Kim Mattingly (Chip), Mark Eagle (Stacy); nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and her sisters, Janie Kipp and Linda Bonn. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 – 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. on Friday.
