Amelia (Trinci) Austin died peacefully at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford on Monday, December 23. Born in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Pietro and Beatrice (Stefani) Trinci. After marrying in England, Amelia and her husband moved to the U.S. A resident of Somerville for almost 50 years, she worked at Gillette in the Quality Control department.
Amelia was the beloved wife of Edward Austin and devoted mother of Peter Austin and his partner Jennifer Rioux of NJ, Paul Austin and his wife Susan of Long Island, NY. She was the loving grandmother of Samantha and Nicole Austin, both of Sandwich and sister of Benita Iacopucci and her husband Ivano of Somerville, Tony Trinci and his wife Margaret, Mario Trinci and his wife Elena, all of England and the late Osvaldo Trinci and his late wife Anna. Amelia is also survived by her niece Amelia Igoe and her husband Donald and their children Kristan Igoe-Guarino and her husband Nick, Joe and Rachel Igoe.
A funeral service will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Monday, December 30 at 9am followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Agnes Church, 30 Medford St., Arlington, at 10am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 8 pm. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
