Carroll O’Neal Harper, 88, went home to his Lord, Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Norton Healthcare Pavillion.
He was born in Logan Co., Arkansas to William Penn & Caroline (Frost) Harper.
Carroll was a retired Production Lineman for American Synthetic Rubber, retiring in 1984 and was a member of Beechland Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and was a member of “Merrills Marauders” in the Pacific Theatre. After the War was over, he re-enlisted and was the driver for the Colonel in charge of the Nuremburg Trials.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Mildred E. (Johns) Harper; his children: Donald (Paula), David (Carol) & Darrell Harper (Donna), Debra Faust (Erick) and Doretta “Dodie” Hollis (Ken); 10 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces & Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens, with Military Honors.
Visitation will be Thursday 1:00–8:00 PM.
