Monahan, Cathleen E. (Kelly) 66, Of Kingston December 20,. Beloved wife of John “Jack” E. Monahan. Loving mother of Cathylyn Helmar of Marion. Stepmother of Kathleen Bither of Quincy, John Monahan of Whitman, Pamela Benson of Marshfield, Dawn Hernandez of Kendall, FL., Michael Monahan of Methuen and Daniel Monahan of Weymouth. Grammy of Cassandra and Christopher Helmar, William and Ariel Hernandez, Matthew and Rachel Benson, Andrew Carroll and Abby Bither, Lillian and Gavin Monahan, Madeline and Vivian Monahan and Grace Monahan. Sister of Michael Kelly of Walpole, Richard T. Kelly, Jr. of Lake Wales, FL., Patrick Kelly of Dorchester and the late Brian Kelly, U.S. Marine Corp., killed in Vietnam and late Phillip Kelly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Cathleen was born in Winthrop and raised in Dorchester. She was a LPN at the St Joseph Nursing Home in Dorchester for 15 years retiring 6 years ago. Cathleen also worked as an LPN at the Mattapan Chronic Hospital for many years. She attended Boston Public Schools and received her LPN in Norwood. Cathleen has lived in Kingston for 15 years and before that Marshfield and Dorchester.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street, Rte. 139 Marshfield on Thursday, December 26th, 2013, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Funeral from the Funeral Home Friday, December 27, at 9:00 a.m followed by a Funeral Mass in St Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean Street, Marshfield at 10 a.m.
Interment will be in the Couch Cemetery Marshfield.
