Obituary

Miller B. Tucker, 84, of Chula died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Rabon Lord and Elder Daniel Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Tucker was born May 30, 1929, in Irwin County to the late George M. & Annie Mae Green Tucker. He was a graduate of Mystic High School and a lifelong farmer. He was known far and wide for his sweet potatoes and he continued to grow a family-line of butterbeans and sweet potatoes. Many would seek his advice and counsel on farming issues and Mr. Tucker was always willing to share his knowledge with his friends and neighbors. He was baptized in the Primitive Baptist faith.

He is survived by his children: Jean & David Howell and Wayne Tucker, all of Chula, Tina & Gary Batten of Tifton, Nancy Tucker and Glenn & Elaine Tucker, all of Chula; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister: Vernice Ezell of Macon; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Nina Bush Tucker; five brothers; and two sisters.
