Helen Day, age 91, of Ambrose, GA passed away at her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Day was born on June 22, 1922 in Douglas, GA. to the late Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Vickers.
Survivors include: two sons: John E. (Linda) Day, Jr. of Valdosta, GA: and Ray (Donna) Day of Ambrose, GA and Daughter-in-Law: Patsy Day of Ambrose, GA. Eight grandchildren and Nineteen Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews: She was preceded in death by her husband: John Earl Day, Sr. and son: Andy Day.
Memorial may be made to Bethany Hospice LLC; 201 Westside Dr., Douglas, GA. OR New Hope Baptist Church, Ambrose, GA.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 from 6 to 9 at Sims Funeral Home.
Services will be held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Carroll Carver officiating. Interment to follow at Douglas City Cemetery.
