Obituary

Shrewsbury — William W. Winterbottom, 85, died at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence on December 19 2013. William was born September 18 1928 in Worcester, son of the late Abel and Agnes (Wilkinson) Winterbottom. He leaves his beloved wife of 63 years, Lois (McClary) Winterbottom. He was predeceased by his sister Martha Morse and brother, The Reverend Lemuel J. Winterbottom. He is survived by nephews James Morse and his fiancé, Donnalee Julian, and John Morse III and his wife Marion, and nieces.

He graduated from South High School. He was an electrician and retired from Parker Manufacturing/Stanley Tool Company. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War on the USS Corry and USS Willard Keith. He was a proud member of the Tin Can Sailors, the American Legion, and First Congregational Church, Shrewsbury. Bill enjoyed his daily walks, spending special time with dear friends, NASCAR, his pets, and trips to the White Mountains.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester. A calling period will be held at 10:15 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Please omit flowers. To honor Bill’s love of animals, memorial donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden St., Worcester MA 01606.
