Kannaly, Joanne (Thomas) 66 of Marshfield December 18, 2013. Surrounded by her entire family. Beloved wife of William “Bill” Kannaly. Loving mother of Karen Coty of Marshfield, Mellissa Swartz and her husband Bob of Vermont, Amy DeFeo of Plymouth, Joseph Perry and his wife Brita of Colorado and Derek Kannaly and his fiancée Danielle Noble of Marshfield. Grandmother of Brian, Benjamin, the late Christopher, Brandyn, Jessie, Daniel, Sara, Stephanie, Corey, Kaegan, Jordanne, Jacob, Emelia and Camden. Great Grandmother of Isabella, Dresdan and Kaylee. Sister of. Dennis Thomas, Bruce Thomas and Richard Towns.
A long-time resident of Marshfield, Joanne was an active participant in our community she believed the way to improve our neighborhood was to get involved. Joanne was a scout leader to all five of her childrens’ peers in both Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts over a span of twenty years. She was on the ground floor in the creation of the Marshfield skate park, raising money from the beginning as the Treasurer and fought hard to it's completion. Joanne has been on the Friends of the Library committee to improve our library for many years. She was currently the Secretary of the First Congregational Church of Marshfield and was involved in many church activities, most notably Camp Sunshine. It was her vacation to spend time volunteering at this camp for children with Fanconi Anemia, a rare genetic blood disorder affecting the bones. She loved spending time with these special children. One thing about Joanne, she never sat still.

A Funeral Service will be at the First Congregational Church 1981 Ocean St Marshfield on Monday December 23, at 10:00 am.
Interment will take place at a later date in the Central Cemetery, Halifax, MA.
