Obituary

A. Eugene Feio, 87, of St. James City, FL, formerly of Westport died Monday, December 16, 2013 at Cape Coral Hospital. He was husband of the late Kathryn (Perry) Feio, they were married for 57 years until she passed away in 2010.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Antone A. and Elvira (Rozinha) Feio, he had lived in Westport his entire life until moving to FL with his daughter due to health issues. A veteran of WWII, he served his country in the Navy in Honolulu from 1943-1946. Prior to retirement in 1981, he had worked for the U.S. Postal Service, serving in many roles including Postmaster of Central Village until its consolidation into the Westport Post Office. He spent many years at the Noquochoke Station and finally as supervisor at the Main Office on State Rd. Mr. Feio was a Reserve Police Officer for the Town of Westport for many years, he rode his beloved Harley Davidson as a Blue Knight while he was an officer, he also served as a Town Constable for several terms. He was a member of the American Legion, James Morris Post 145 and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Christine R. Crowther and her husband Walter of St. James City, FL and Marcia F. Kirby and her husband Michael of St. James City, FL; a sister: Mary Desch and her husband James of Allentown, PA; 4 grandchildren: Jacob and Lauren Stawicki of Westport, Scott Crowther and his wife Lindsey of Cape Coral, FL and Wendy Leger and her husband Robert of Cape Coral, FL; 2 great grandsons: Cameron and Mason Leger; and several nieces, nephews and godchildren.
He was father of the late Diana Feio and brother of the late Gertrude Maduro.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Friday 4 – 6 P.M.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
