GLOUCESTER: Anne “Nina” (Favazza) Danna, 90, passed away peacefully at Addison Gilbert Hospital on Saturday, December 14, 2013. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Danna.
Born in Gloucester on November 13, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Vincenza (Orlando) Favazza. She was the mother of Charlene (Danna) King, who predeceased her in 2008. She grew up ‘Down the Fort’ one of thirteen children. She was a member of the first class to graduate from the new Gloucester High School.
Nina worked on the Gloucester waterfront as a fish cutter and packer until her retirement in the 1980’s. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and close friends. She was a member of The Madonna Del Rosario Society.
She is survived by her granddaughter Nicole Muise and her husband Daniel; her grandson Jeff King; three great grandchildren, Peyton, Nicholas and Ava Hovis; a brother and sister-in-law John and Mary Favazza; a sister, Josephine Orlando and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church, Gloucester at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In keeping with the family’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours and burial will be private. Please omit flowers. Donations in her memory can be made to Nicole Muise, 7 Warner St. Gloucester.
