GLOUCESTER: Roswell F. “Ross” Lane, Jr., 71, died Sunday, December 15, 2013. He was the husband of Ann E. (Thibodeau) Lane.
Born in Gloucester on June 24, 1942, he was the son of the late Roswell F., Sr. and Lois (Marshall) Lane. He was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1960.
A well-known character in the community, Ross grew up working for his father at Lane’s Garage on Leonard Street in Annisquam. He continued to work as the proprietor of R. F. Lane & Company of Annisquam until his retirement.
In his spare time, he enjoyed clamming and spending time on the water tuna fishing and lobstering.
In addition to his wife of fifty-three years, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelley and Jon Lovasco, Kimberly and Albert Olson, three grandsons, Christopher and Stephen Perruzzi and Adam Lovasco; a sister, Lynn, wife of Clark Poole, and several nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, services will be held privately. There are no visiting hours.
