Onchick, Evelyn (Gautreau) - of Chelsea, December 11th. Wife of the late Zachery Onchick. Beloved mother of the late John Onchick and his wife Barbara of Everett. Dear sister of Reene Downs and the late Ruth Ford, Dorothy DeFelice, Alice Robitaille, Helen English, Robert Gautreau, Frank Gautreau and Edward Gautreau. Cherished grandmother of Tracy McBride, Stephanie Broderick and her husband Timothy. Also lovingly survived by 4 great grandchildren, Christopher and Eric McBride, Janelle and Nicole Broderick and many nieces and nephews.
She was a lifelong resident of Chelsea, MA and was employed with Stop & Shop for many years. Evelyn passed away on Dec. 11th at the Whidden Memorial Hospital just 3 days short of her 102nd birthday. She was a lover of horse and dog racing and would be the first to give you a lucky number to play that night in the lottery. Most of all, she loved her shopping and frequently visited the Downtown Crossing area.
A memorial mass for Evelyn will be held on Saturday, January 18 in Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols Street, Chelsea at 11 AM.
