Barbara A. (Alosso) Garofalo died peacefully at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She was 66.
Barbara was born and raised in Somerville, the daughter of the late Frank and Grace (Gregory) Alosso. A resident of Melrose for 42 years Barbara recently moved to Stoneham. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant with Locke Manufacturing. She was however as devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed the company of her many friends and who cared so much for her brother, sister, niece and nephews.
The beloved wife of Donato Garofalo, she was a devoted mother to Victor of Stoneham, Johnny of Danvers and Rich and his wife Melanie of Dracut. A loving grandmother to Melanie, Isabella and Max, she was also a loving aunt to Danielle Schneider and Godmother to Peter Tomassetti. Predeceased by siblings: Frank A. Alosso and Marie Tomassetti, Barbara was a dear sister-in-law to Gerard, M. Catarina, and Sr. Cherubina Garofalo all of Italy, Salvatore Garofalo and his wife Lucy of Boston and the late Rosaria Caratti, Carmen and Angelo Garofalo.
Friends and family may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday from 4 thru 8 PM and again on Wednesday, December 18th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
