Obituary


Bedford- Lena A. (Paris) Healey, 93, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2013 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on May 17, 1920 . She was one of ten children of Alfred and Alice (Beaudet) Paris, survived now only by one sister, Irene Sykes.
She attended Manchester Central High School and worked at Woolworth’s as a teenager and later at Scott’s Jewelers. She was a bookkeeper for many years for Kalwall Corp. and Ferretti’s Corp.
She is survived by sons Thomas and his wife Sally of New Mexico, Daniel and his wife Susan of Alaska, daughters in law Janice and Jenna. She was predeceased by her son James and daughters in law Linda and Mary Lou. She enjoyed spending time with her six grandchildren, Margaret, Derek, Christopher, Karen, Stephanie, Jessica, and nine great grandchildren to whom she was all known as “Nana”.
Lena was a vivacious person, always helping other people. While living in Peabody, MA. From 1983– 1988 she volunteered at Davey Thomas Hospital. She was a great cook and crafts person and she loved animals, especially cats. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, sports, in her early years dancing to the big bands.
She will be missed by many. The family wishes to thank her caregivers at Ridgewood Center in Bedford, NH.
A memorial reception will take place on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St. A committal service will be on Thursday at 10 AM in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the NHSPCA, 104 Portsmouth Ave. Stratham NH 03885.
