Obituary

DUDLEY - Peter W. Teguis, 75, of Dudley, died on December 8th in the comfort of his home surrounded by those who so loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Virginia (Cox) Teguis, his sons Daniel C. Teguis of Webster and Matthew P. Teguis, and his kind and thoughtful wife, Daphne, of Dudley. Peter had a deep love for his sons whom he respected and admired. He so enjoyed and was very proud of his four grandchildren, Alexander, Melina, Jordan and Demi and their academic and athletic achievements. He leaves his brother, Milton P. Teguis and his wife Anne, and their son, Dr. Corey Teguis of Kennebunk, ME. He also leaves his lifelong best friend Paul Karapanos of Webster and cousins, Roxanne Pappas, Mary Fatsi, Dorothy Teguis and Eleanor Teguis. He was predeceased by his parents, Constantine and Jennie (Zalla) Teguis, his son, John P. Teguis and his sister, Alexsandra Teguis.

He was a graduate of Bartlett High School (1956) and Worcester State College earning his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. He enjoyed working as a Guidance Counselor at Shepherd Hill Regional High School, retiring in 2001. He was a man who was happy with a hammer, a bag of nails, a saw, or a book in his hand. He worked long and hard building his family homes in Connecticut, Dudley and Webster.

Peter, and the late Mary Hencinski, were the driving force that established the Dudley Housing for the Elderly. He served on the Dudley Housing Committee for over 30 years.

Peter's family would like to thank his hospice nurse, Jeanine Dacri, of Central Mass.Hospice for her friendship, overwhelming kindness and support, compassionate care and honest conversations.

At Peter's request a private graveside service was held at Mt. Zion Cemetery officiated by Father Luke Veronis of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church of Webster. Donations in Peter's name may be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 713, Webster, Mass. 01570.
