Maria Alina Goncalves DeBarros (61) of Brockton and Cape Verde died Dec 11th in the Beth Israel Hospital, Boston after injuries sustained in an auto accident in Brockton. She was the wife of Jose Antonio DeBarros.
Maria was born in Nossa Senhora Conceicao, Fogo, Cape Verde daughter of the late Maria Jesus Goncalves and Marcelino Teixeira of Brockton. She loved to cook and visit with family and friends.
In addition to her husband and father she is survived by 3 sons Jose Maria and Lamine Goncalves DeBarros and Julio Cesar Almeida DeBarros all of Praia, Cape Verde, 3 daughters Geronima Goncalves Ribeiro, Dulce Helena Goncalves DeBarros and Helena Almeida DeBarros all of Praia, 6 brothers Filipe, Hermogenes, Joao, Jose and Fausto Teixeira also Jorge Goncalves, 6 sisters Adelia Lucia and Eunica Goncalves, Caterina, Maria, Maria Zinha and Alina Teixeiras. Also 11 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court St Brockton, Sunday Dec 15th from 3-9 pm. A Funeral Mass and Burial will take place next week in Praia, Santiago, Cape Verde.
