Obituary

Emile R. Gelinas, 90, of Manchester, died December 9, 2013 at Catholic Medical Center.

He was born in Manchester January 31, 1923 the son of Euchariste and Alexandrine Gelinas. He was a lifelong resident of this city.

He served as a Technical Sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during World War II..

He owned and operated the House of Gelinas for 50 years having sold pianos, organs and televisions.

He was a former member of the Catholic War Veterans, Knights of Columbus and the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood.

Emile was predeceased by his wife, Olive (Royer) Gelinas in 1997 and by a son, Daniel A. Gelinas November 9, 2013.

He leaves four children, Leonard Gelinas and wife Mali, David Gelinas and wife Diane, Deborah G. Lavoie, and Lisa G. Rajaniemi and husband Steven; 6 grandchildren; his daughter in-law, Delight Nelson Gelinas; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.



A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester. Encryptment will be in Mount Calvary Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.
