Brent F. Jacobs, 53, of Fitzgerald, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in Irwin County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Memorial services will be held 11 AM, Thursday, December 12, 2013, at The Paulk Funeral Home Chapel in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Robert Couey, the Rev. Dr. Mike Ruffin, and the Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday as well as following the service.
Mr. Jacobs was born September 11, 1960 in Atlanta to William F. “Bill” and Jean Webb Jacobs. A 1978 graduate of Fitzgerald High School, he earned his Associates’ degree in computer science from ABAC in 1980. He was a former employee of Fitzgerald Railcar and Walker Printing Company. Mr. Jacobs was the former owner/operator of Bink’s Comics Café in Fitzgerald. He continued his education, earning his LPN degree in 2004 from Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. He worked as an LPN at Dorminy Medical Center. A member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Mr. Jacobs was an animal lover and enjoyed caring for his cats. He was an avid movie trivia buff and loved music.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother: Blane & Barbara Jacobs of Fitzgerald; a nephew: Ben & Christy Jacobs of Fitzgerald; a niece: Bailey & Chris Miller of Fitzgerald; and a great niece: Callie Jacobs.
