Elaine R. Napolitano, 78

Dateline: North Attleboro, MA

Elaine R. (Soccio) Napolitano, age 78 of North Attleboro, formerly of Johnston, RI and Providence, RI passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on August 16, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Nicola Soccio and Giovanna (Giarrusso) Lusignan.
She grew up in Providence, was educated in Providence schools and had the distinction of receiving the Anthony Medal for her outstanding scholastic achievements.
Elaine was a retired hairdresser and had resided in North Attleboro for the past 13 years. In addition to spending quiet times spent at home, she loved knitting, crocheting, ceramics, rug hooking and cooking.
She is survived by her devoted children, Sheryl A. Napolitano of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Michael V. Napolitano, Sr. and his wife Leanne of Lincoln. Rhode Island and Lori A. Napolitano and her husband Bruce Nieuwkoop of Norton. She was the cherished grandmother of Bradford Lefoley, Michelle Napolitano, Michael Napolitano, Jr. and Dean Nieuwkoop. She was the sister of Vincent Soccio, Doris Sickles and the late Nicolas Soccio.
Her funeral Mass to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, December 19th at 10:00 in St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park St., North Attleboro. Burial will be private.
Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Madonna Manor Nursing Home, 85 North Washington St., North Attleboro, MA 02760.
