Margaret A. (Minihan) Winsor, 87, of Whitman passed away on Sunday December 8th Surrounded by her loving family in the Signature Health Care Brockton Hospital, after a period of failing health. She was the loving wife of the late Harold G. Winsor, Jr.
She was born in Brockton, daughter of the late Timothy J. and Marion J, (Cormier) Minihan,
Margaret was a lifelong resident of Whitman, a graduate of Whitman High School and Boston University. At the time of retirement in 1985, she was the Administrative Assistant to the School Committee and Superintendent of Schools in Hanson .Prior to service in the field of education, she was employed as Administrative Assistant to the New England Real Estate Supervisor of Cities Service Oil Co. in Braintree.
She was a member of the Whitman Historical Society and the Whitman Woman’s Club and a former member and officer of the Whitman Mothers Club, also the Whitman Industrial Development Commission.
She is survived by her children, Anne Winsor of Whitman, Jon C. Winsor and his companion Brenda of Hudson, Jeffrey D. Winsor and his wife Wendy J. of Plymouth and Patricia L. Walker of Las Vegas ;also her grandchildren Michelle M., Amy J., Matthew D. Winsor, her sister Helen Clancy of Whitman; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also the sister of the late Mary Lou Mara.
Her services will be held on Friday December 13th at 8:15AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth St.( Rte 58 @ the rotary circle) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 9:00AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman Burial will be in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. @ 11:30AM. Visitation will be on Thursday December 12th from 5:00-8:00PM.Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 5 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379.
