Jean M. Doughty
Formerly of Tewksbury
HAVERHILL: Jean M. (Ryan) Doughty, age 77, formerly of Tewksbury for 25 years, residing in Haverhill and Vero Beach, passed away at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach, FL, with her daughters by her side, on Thursday evening, December 5, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of 47 years to the late Robert J. Doughty
Born in Medford on May 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Helen C. (O'Day) Ryan.
Jean was raised in Somerville and attended Somerville schools.
Following their marriage on July 3, 1955, Jean devoted her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
While living in Tewksbury, she enjoyed a long career in the catering business.
Jean is survived by six daughters, Debra A. Doherty and her husband Stephen of Haverhill, Denise M. Frick and her husband Steven, Karen A. Ricci and her husband Stephen, Carolyn Doughty, Cheryl A. Yoshimoto, Pamela J. Sheehan and her husband Scott; fifteen grandchildren, Jessica M. True, Danielle, Stephen, Jr. and Christian Doherty, Jacob and Lucas Frick, Rachael, Adam, Jarod and Brandon Ricci, Arielle and Chantelle Chandonnet, Brittney Anderson, Nicholas and Olivia Sheehan; six brothers, Richard, Thomas, Steven, James, Kenneth and William Ryan; one sister, Virginia Barnes. She also leaves four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was the mother of the late Robert C. Doughty and sister of the late Patricia Robinson, Charles and John Ryan.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, Dec. 11, 4-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Thursday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. William's Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at St. Mary Cemetery.
