Obituary

Mr. Thomas J. Oatman, a resident of Andover for the past twelve years and formerly of Medford, died suddenly at his home on Thursday, December 5, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Lee-Ann (Mitchell) Oatman.
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, on February 12, 1962, Mr. Oatman was the beloved son of the late William G. and Patricia A. (Macosko) Oatman. Tom was a graduate of Wentworth Institute and was employed by American Science and Engineering in Billerica as a Manager Software Test Engineering for the past 7 years.
In his spare time, Tom enjoyed playing golf and fly fishing. He also enjoyed playing poker with his friends. Above all, Tom enjoyed being involved with his son, Jonathan. He was a Cub Scout Den Leader in Andover, Pack 79. He loved to take Jonathan to Home Depot to do projects and to take him fishing and skiing as well.
Besides his beloved wife, Lee-Ann and son, Jonathan, Tom will be very  missed by his loving siblings; William “Bill” and his wife Carolyn Oatman of Rochester, New York, Cynthia and her husband Gary Messina of Derry, New Hampshire, Mark and his wife Luann Oatman of Blandon, Pennsylvania and Lisa Ruskie of Wake Forest, North Carolina, brother-in-law; Tim and his wife Pam Mitchell of North Granby, Connecticut and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother in law of the late Fred Ruskie.
His funeral mass was celebrated at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 198 Haggett’s Pond Road, Andover, Massachusetts, on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Calling hours were held on Monday, December 9, 2013, from 4 to 8 PM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church. Interment was held in the West Parish Garden Cemetery in Andover, Mass.
