Julien J. Menard, 92, of New Bedford died Sunday October 3, 2004 at home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Viola E. (Lafleur) Menard; they had been married for 64 years.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Jules Menard and Orasie (Martin) Mayer, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church.
Mr. Menard was formerly employed as the Supervisor of the Beef Department for the Armour Company in New Bedford and Providence until his retirement.
He was a lifelong Boston Red Sox fan.
Survivors include three daughters, Susan M. Guy and her husband Paul, Irene M. Menard, and Denise A. Gregoire and her husband Richard, all of New Bedford; two sons, Paul J. Menard, serving in the Peace Corps in Senegal, and David J. Menard and his wife Michelle of New Bedford; eight grandchildren, Cassandra Menard, Kerrie Menard, Keith Menard, Peter Guy, Jason Guy, Justin Gregoire, Timothy Gregoire, and Austin Menard.
He was the father of the late Louise A. Menard.
