Obituary

Doris R. Roy, 88, formerly of Chateau Clare, died Friday at The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Normand L. Roy.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Bernadette (St. Louis) Pichette. She was raised in Woonsocket and resided for 18 years in Hartford, CT before returning to Woonsocket.
Mrs. Roy was employed as a filing clerk in the insurance industry in Hartford and upon returning to Woonsocket she worked at Woonsocket Hospital, Woonsocket Health Care Center, and Hospice St. Antoine. She was a longtime communicant of Precious Blood Parish.
She is survived by her nieces and caregivers Jeanette Dufresne and Annette Fluette both of Woonsocket and many additional nieces and nephews and their families. She was the sister of the late Octave and Roland Pichette, Sr. Helen Pichette V.M., Marie-Ange Morel, Bernadette Durand, Maria Fluette, Rose Fluette, Cecile Pichette, Therese Cote, and Blanche Provencal.
The family of Doris wishes to acknowledge the wonderful care she reveived from the staff of the Friendly Home.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Tuesday morning from 8:45-9:45 am, prior to Mass, in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Friendly Home Activities Fund, 303 Rhodes Ave., Woonsocket, RI. 02895.
