TAUNTON – David F. Enos of Taunton passed from this life on Dec. 5, 2013.
He died at home with his wife, Rosemary, his children, family and friends at his side, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
He was 62 years old.
David was born in the Whittenton section of Taunton, the son of the late Frank and Anna (Ventura) Enos.
He was married to the love of his life, Rosemary (Dorato), having spent almost 37 years together sharing a life.
They renewed their wedding vows this past year on their 27th wedding anniversary.
A graduate of the former Taunton Vocational High School, David was a master welder working at the Quincy Shipyard and Taunton Engineering.
With the help of his mentor, George Gouveia, he started a successful career buying property and renting apartments.
He loved his country and was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps.
David was a member of the Parker Golf Course, where he enjoyed spending time with his buddies, both on the course and in the clubhouse.
He also belonged to the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club, and the American Legion.
He and his wife traveled frequently to Hawaii, calling it their special home, where they made many friends and beautiful memories.
He loved playing the ukulele, playing golf, and being with his dogs, Harry, Shane, Hoku and Jordan.
The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his grandson, Gavin, who was his soul mate and best buddy.
He was the father of David Enos, Jr. of Taunton, Jessica Cabral and her husband David of Berkley, Sara Dunham and her husband Chad of Dighton, and Matthew Enos of Taunton.
David was the proud grandfather of 12.
He was especially proud of Gavin and Caleb, who were the lights in his life.
He leaves a sister, Margaret Martinez and her husband David, Frank Enos, and Richard Enos and his wife Shirley, all of Taunton; his brother-in-law, David Dorato of Taunton, his sister-in-law, Deborah Dorato of Taunton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Gilbert Enos.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday Dec. 9th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of The Lord Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Dec. 8th from 5 to 8 p.m.
