HOPKINTON: Sean Thomas O’Connor, 60, died peacefully and comfortably at Saint Vincent Hospital on December 4, 2013 following a courageous and dignified battle of 10 months with bladder cancer.
He was born on May 1, 1953 the son of Thomas O’Connor and Grace (Noyes) O’Connor both of Albany, New Hampshire.
Sean is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 33 years, Pamela R. Van Sipe of Hopkinton, MA. He is also survived by his daughter Kelly Rose and her husband Richard of Oswego, IL as well as their son Richie Rose of Oswego, IL; his brother Michael O’Connor and wife Mary Jane of Roseville, MN, brother Dennis O’Connor and wife Karen of Orford, NH, sister Deidre Sheets and husband John of Norwich, VT and sister Sheila O’Connor and her husband Mark Pidgeon of Galmpton Devon, England; His niece Claire O’Connor and nephews Zachary Sheets, Travis O’Connor, Ethan O’Connor and Kyle O’Connor.
Sean has been a resident of Hopkinton for the past 28 years. He grew up in Dedham, MA and was a graduate of Dedham High School. He has had a long and dedicated career of over 40 years as a Plant Engineer with Nyacol Nano Technologies of Ashland. He was an avid golfer and skier and enjoyed the outdoors. He also worked for the Wachusett Mountain race department where he assisted as a Pace Setter for NASTAR and other ski racing events. He was well loved and respected by his friends and colleagues and will be greatly missed by all of the people whose lives he touched.
At the request of his family there will be no funeral home visitations. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial gifts in Sean’s name may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice.
