Mary C. (Lentini) Riordan, a 22 year resident of Melrose and formerly of Medford, entered into eternal life on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Glen Ridge Nursing Care Center in Medford after a lengthy illness. She was 86 years old.
Mary was born in Boston on August 24, 1927, a daughter of the late Anthony Lentini and Sarah (Inferrera) Lentini. She grew up in Dorchester where she was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from the Jeremiah E. Burke High School. Mary worked for many years as a bookkeeper for several businesses in the area. She enjoyed needlepointing and knitting and loved to travel.
Mary is the beloved wife of the late John M. Riordan. She is the devoted mother of Dennis P. Riordan and his wife Carol of Melrose. She is the loving Grandma to Scott J. Riordan of Melrose. She is the beloved sister of Sally Masse of Norwood and the late Tina O'Connell, Dominic Lentini and John Lentini. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mary's visiting hours on Thursday morning, December 5, 2013 from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose followed by her Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 11 A.M. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
