Obituary

Virginia E. Rogers of North Easton passed away late Sunday evening, December 1, 2013 just 2 hours shy of her 94th birthday. Virginia was the wife of the late Alfred G. Rogers and the daughter of the late Anthony and Virginia (Carreiro) DeCouto. Raised and educated in No. Easton, she was a 1937 graduate of Oliver Ames High School. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Virginia was employed by Stonehill College as a payroll bookkeeper for many years. Upon her retirement she worked at Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital as a volunteer. Her hobbies included knitting, rug braiding, cross-word puzzles, and she was an avid Red-Sox fan.
Her travels which brought her a great deal of enjoyment were throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Virginia was the sister of her late brothers Francis E. DeCouto, Herbert P. DeCouto, Arthur W. DeCouto, and James E. DeCouto. Survivors include her sister, Alice F. Howard of North Easton, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be Thursday 4-8 pm in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte123), Brockton. A procession will form from the funeral home Friday at 9 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 193 Main Street, No. Easton at 10 am. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Canton Street, No. Easton, MA.
