John J. Robertson, 55, died on Friday.
He was born May 29, 1958 in Elwood to the late John Robertson and Mary Jane House.
He graduated from Highland High School in 1976,
He served the United States Marine Corps, where he was honorably discharged then in the US Marine Corps Reserves for 2 years.
He was a loyal employee to Jefferson Smurfitt for 19 years and International Paper for 8 years.
He was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene.
John was a hardworking, proud, very caring man.
He was preceded in death by; his father, John H. Robertson; his mother & step-father , Mary Jane (Connelly) & Robert House; maternal grandparents, Orah and James J. Connelly; paternal grandparents, Dorothy & Arthur Robertson; step-grandmother, Blanche Robertson; aunts, Jane Buchmiller, Lizzie Lane, Julie Connelly and his mother-in-law, Joan "Carol" Powless.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Vickey (Powless) Robertson of Anderson; the Powless family; children, Cassandra and Shiloh Robertson; uncles, Jim and Henry Connelly; the Connelly family; best friend/brother, Jeff Brooks and many beloved longtime friends.
Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, 3:30 P.M. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Alvin Dayton officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery
