Obituary

Ray Donald Wallace, 78, of Chase City, VA passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013. He was born on February 6, 1935 in Chase City, VA to the late Emmett “Eugene” and Willie H. Wallace. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Bettie” Brame Wallace, two daughters, Donna Wallace Brumfield and her husband Darrell of Concord, NC and Karen Wallace Cardwell and her husband Stanley of Raleigh, NC, and two sons, Chuck Wallace and his wife Denie of Chase City, VA and Sam Wallace and his wife Janet of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by one sister, Doris Wallace Marrin of Richmond, VA, five grandchildren, Stacie Champion and her husband Logan of Skipwith, VA, Robbie Wallace and his wife, Jamie of Savannah, GA, Kacie Cardwell of Seattle, WA, Daniel Brumfield and his fiancee' Cheryl Bourne of Detroit, MI, and Laura Beth Brumfield of Concord, NC, two great-grandsons, Conner and Luke Champion, and two nieces, Robin Baugh and her husband Doug and Kelly McColley and her husband Mike. Mr. Wallace was a National Guard Veteran. He retired from the Army Corp of Engineers at John H. Kerr Dam. He was a Charter Member of the Sertoma Club of Chase City. Ray coached Dixie Youth and Babe Ruth baseball for many years and loved deer hunting. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Woodland Mausoleum. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. The family will be accepting friends at the home of Chuck and Denie Wallace.
