Obituary

East Brookfield: Lorraine G. (Dupuis) D’Amato 88, of Harrington lane, died Saturday, November 30th in her home after an illness.



She leaves her four sons, Richard A. D'Amato and his wife Donna of Spencer, Dennis G. D'Amato of Spencer, Glenn P. D'Amato and his wife Kimberly of East Brookfield, and Donald E. D'Amato and his wife Susan of Spencer; a sister Shirley Chapin; a brother Robert Dupuis and his wife, Gloria; as well as her six grandchildren, Eric, Lisa, Laureen, Jessica, Matt and Tony; four great grandchildren, Allanna, Connor, Owen and Christopher; and several nephews and a niece.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Arthur D'Amato, who died in 2007.



She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Alfred and Gertrude (LaCoste) Dupuis and grew up in Spencer. She attended St. Mary's Elementary School and David Prouty High School.



Mrs. D'Amato worked at the former First National grocery stores in Worcester, and later at Rindge Industries in Ware, MA.



Lorraine was a member and communicant at Saint John the Baptist church. She was a former member of the East Brookfield Democratic Town Committee, as, she and Arthur, shared an interest in local and state politics. She enjoyed candlepin bowling and participated in several area leagues. She was an avid reader who also loved playing card games and bingo with family and friends. Lorraine was a lifelong fan of the Red Sox. Her favorite pastime, however, was enjoying the role of "mom" and "grammy".



Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10am. in Saint John the Baptist Church, No.Brookfield Rd., East Brookfield. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 4 to 7p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Saint John the Baptist Church, 121 Blaine Ave., East Brookfield, 01515.
