David W. Karr, Sr.
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, November 27, 2013, Mr. David W. Karr, 68, loving husband of Mrs. Marlene Karr and son of the late George and Emily Karr.
Mr. Karr was a native of Havre de Grace, Maryland but lived in Augusta much of his life. He served in the U.S. Army (Special Forces) and in the Vietnam War. Later, he worked as a chef and always loved cooking. David was an avid fisherman and had several martial arts belts, including black and red & white. He also enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers. The lights of his life were Brittany, Glenn, and Brendon and his dogs Boots and Ella.
Family members in addition to his wife include daughter: Janet Akemon (Dwight); sons: David McNair (Melisa), Scott Karr (Barb), Kelly, David Jr. and Billy Karr; brother: John Karr (Sara); 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 1, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Robert Cook officiating.
