Obituary

Pam Langdale Taibi, 55, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, November 28, 2013, at Irwin County Hospital in Ocilla.

Memorial services will be held 4 PM, Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Liberty Baptist Church, in Tifton, with the Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends at the church, Sunday afternoon from 2 PM until the service hour.

Mrs. Taibi was born June 22, 1958, in Fitzgerald to Joyce Nelms Langdale Smith and the late Fred Edward Langdale. A former resident of Eatonton, she lived most of her life in the Irwin County community. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School in 1976, received her LPN training at East Central Technical College and she received her critical care paramedic training from Valdosta Technical College. She was an emergency room nurse at Irwin County Hospital and was an EMT/Paramedic for Southern Regional EMS. Mrs. Taibi taught the EMT and Paramedic courses at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College. She formerly worked for Irwin County EMS and Coffee Regional EMS. She was an avid supporter of the Relay for Life and Shop with a Cop program. She was an animal lover who supported ASPCA. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years: Mark Taibi of Ocilla; son: Vic & Shelly Cooper of Tallahassee, Florida; daughter: Dee Dee Cooper of Ocilla; son: Mark Taibi, Jr. & Courtney Taibi of Ocilla; mother: Joyce & William J. Smith of Fitzgerald; sister: Brenda & Mickey Lupo of Irwin County; brother: Fred Langdale, Jr. & Connie of Irwin County; ten grandchildren: Courtney Cooper, Wyatt Cooper, Saxton Cooper, Kody Cooper, Taylor Cooper, Payton Cooper, Kayla Cooper, Paige Hogan, Maggie Hogan and Brantley Corbin Taibi. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Bernard Francis Hogan, III.
