Robert M. Knight, age 63, of North Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield and Attleboro passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the Home & Hospice Care of Rhode Island.
Born in Attleboro, MA on November 21, 1950, he was a devoted son of the late Chester I. and Doris M. (Campbell) Knight. He grew up in Attleboro, was educated in Plainville schools, and was a graduate of King Phillip High School in Wrentham.
Mr. Knight had worked for over 10 years as a custodian for the Mansfield School Department at both the Jordan/Jackson School and the Robinson School. He had formerly been employed as a self-employed carpenter.
His greatest pride and joy in life was spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He loved the great outdoors, which included fishing, gardening, and especially taking his grandchildren on nature walks.
Bob had made his home in North Attleboro for the past 7 years and previously resided in Mansfield and Attleboro. His hobbies including collecting antique carpentry tools and attending flea markets. He will always be happily remembered for his exceptional cooking talents.
He is survived beloved daughter, Kerri A. Knight and her boyfriend Joshua Fountain of North Attleboro. He was the dear brother of Lorraine M. Knight of Mansfield and the late James J. Knight, Beverly M. Greene, and Nancy J. Cote. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Elijah, Brandon and Lola, his dear sister sister-in-law Brenda J. Knight of Mansfield, his loving niece Kelly Morse of Mansfield and his loving nephew Corey Cote of Rhode Island.
Private services will be held at the convenience of his family. Visiting hours have also been omitted.
Those wishing may remember Bob with a donation in his memory made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105, where his grandson was a former patient.
