Obituary

Roberta (Fletcher) Garvin, 77, formerly of Medford and Wellesley, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013, after a long period of declining health.

Born in Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Natalie (Hailwood) Fletcher.

Bobbie was a graduate of Wellesley College Class of 1957 and received her Master’s degree from the Smith College School for Social Work in 1989 specializing in substance abuse counseling.

She volunteered in many community programs while living in Wellesley and most recently continued to help others working in the English as a Second Language Program in Framingham. She was an avid gardener and active volunteer and member of the Garden in the Woods in Framingham.

She is survived by her children, Lisa Mandozzi and husband David of Ashland, Melissa McGrail and husband Brian of Wakefield, Christopher Garvin and wife Elise of Wellesley, and Allison Nelson of Framingham; her sister, Marilyn Fitzpatrick of Natick; and her grandchildren, Michael and Nicholas Mandozzi, Tyler and Kyle McGrail, Lily, Mia, and William Garvin, and Olivia and Phoebe Nelson.

A service in her memory will be held at a later date.
