Funeral services for Mrs. Elva Gray Lockerman Yarbrough, 87, of Sycamore, GA will be held at Perry Funeral Chapel, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at 2:30 PM. Mrs. Yarbrough passed away Tuesday at Tift Regional Hospital following an illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn.
The daughter of the late Walter Herbert and Mattie Essie Gurr Lockerman, she was born in Collier County, FL. Mrs. Yarbrough was the widow of James Quinton Yarbrough. She had lived most of her life in Ashburn before moving to Sycamore twenty years ago. She was a member of the Baptist Faith and was a retired Supervisor from Jaco Pants Factory where she had worked for over forty years. She enjoyed keeping and raising her grandchildren, reading, working with her flowers, crafts and baking.
Survivors include her children, Sheila Y. (Jim) George, Cordele, GA; Jim (Cookie) Yarbrough, Ashburn, GA and Tony (Selena) Yarbrough, Sycamore, GA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and her sister, Lola Barfield, Tifton, GA.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until time of services at Perry Funeral Chapel.
